重庆市暨华中学校创建于1995年，毗邻重庆江北机场，是渝北区政府与国务院侨务办公室、暨南大学、华侨大学共同创建的一所高级完全中学，旨在解决三峡库区移民子女和重庆地区归侨及侨属子女入学问题。学校以暨南大学、华侨大学校名第一个字命名为“暨华中学”，由中国近代力学之父、世界著名科学家、教育家钱伟长先生题写校名。是重庆市重点中学、国务院侨务办公室华文教育基地、国家基础教育改革示范学校、教育部中外人文交流特色实验学校、重庆市第一批中外人文交流实验学校，中美千校携手项目学校、重庆市教育科研实验基地、重庆市绿色学校、德国DSD教育项目学校。

Founded in 1995, Chongqing Jihua Middle School is adjacent to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. It is a complete secondary school jointly established by the People's Government of Yubei District, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Jinan University and Huaqiao University. The school aims to ensure access to education for the children of relocated people in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, and of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives in Chongqing. "Jihua" in the name of the school came from the first words of Jinan University and Huaqiao University. The name of the school was inscribed by Qian Weichang, a world-famous scientist, educationist and the father of modern Chinese mechanics. Chongqing Jihua Middle School is a key middle school in Chongqing, a Chinese language education base sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, a national demonstration school for basic education reform, a characteristic experimental school for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries recognized by the Ministry of Education, the People's Republic of China, one of Chongqing's first experimental schools for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, a participant in the China-US "1,000 Schools Hands Together" program, an education and scientific research experimental base in Chongqing, a green school in Chongqing, and an official school of the German DSD program.

Embracing the school-running concept of "developing potential and individuality", the school adheres to the overall development idea of "1234", that is, focusing on one goal, highlighting two main lines, strengthening three major measures, and paying close attention to four major initiatives. It has comprehensively improved the quality of education and teaching, significantly enhanced the school-running strength, boasted more distinctive school-running characteristics, and achieved leapfrog development with a high starting point and high standards. In recent years, the students' results in the college entrance examination and the academic test for the junior high school students have ranked among the best in the district, growing in leaps and bounds year by year. Students like Yu Zhengrong, and Yuan Qingsong have been admitted to Peking University, the Aviation University of Air Force and other first-class universities in China. Students like Zhou Xia, Bai Yanzhi, and Huang Jinghan has secured the highest score in liberal arts or science in the district. The school has trained a large number of outstanding talents for building a great modern socialist country in all aspects. Students have won many titles in national, provincial and municipal competitions of men's volleyball, archery, martial arts, track and field, dance art, and robot production. Scientific and technological innovation inventions have gained 640 national patents, and 186 people have won national and municipal first prizes in mathematics, physics, chemistry, English and composition competitions.

The school pursues high quality and opening-up, attaches great importance to the characteristics of "integrating diverse cultures and highlighting the essence of Chinese language", and plays a leading role in international exchange involving the city's schools. Foreign teachers from developed countries such as the U.K. and the U.S. have been hired to teach oral foreign languages for many years. Eight teachers have been assigned to receive further training in the U.K., Germany and teach in Thailand. Many teachers and students have been selected for exchange visits in Australia, Japan and South Korea to actively spread Chinese culture. Chongqing Jihua Middle School has received more than 1,000 overseas Chinese youths in the summer (winter) camp of "Chinese Root Seeking Tour", 200 overseas students in Chinese culture experience activities, 364 members of foreign expert delegations for exchanges and research, as well as 192 participants in the “Red Candle Overseas Trip to Hometown” and excellent overseas Chinese teachers in exchange visits. It has established friendly relationships with nine schools in such countries as the UK, Germany, and Thailand, and carried out extensive exchanges and cooperation with 56 Chinese education bases and demonstration schools in 22 countries, 11 Chinese language schools in the U.K., and two renowned schools in Thailand and South Korea, portraying a fine image of Chongqing's opening up in education.

Chongqing Jihua Middle School is the only Chinese education base sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council in basic education in southwest China, and a characteristic experimental school for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries recognized by the Ministry of Education, the People's Republic of China. Teachers have rich overseas teaching experience and well-developed capability for foreign exchanges. Teachers have been sent to receive training in Europe and the U.S., and to teach in Thailand. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have pooled the talents and strength of the whole school to proactively develop online Chinese language and culture courses, organized events such as Chinese Bridge, Chinese Culture Paradise, and Tell Chongqing Stories · Make Global Friends, and engaged students from Europe, Asia, North America and South America in the courses. According to students' ability and age groups, teachers have developed special courses, including language skills, cultural exchanges, and intangible cultural heritage experience, and online tourism, which are popular among students.

学校拥有一支教学技术过硬的教师团队，多名教师毕业于北京师范大学、华中师范大学、陕西师范大学等知名学府的教育专业，且均具有丰富的国际汉语及中华文化教学经验。经过多年的教学实践及深耕，学院目前在汉语课和文化课教学方面已经形成了比较规范的、高效的课程体现以及相关特色课程。

We have a team of teachers with excellent teaching skills. Many of them graduated as a major in Education from prestigious universities such as Beijing Normal University, Central China Normal University and Shaanxi Normal University. All of them have abundant experience in teaching Chinese language and culture to speakers of other languages. After years of teaching practice and improvement, we have established a relatively standardized and efficient curriculum and relevant special courses in the teaching of Chinese language and culture.

一、汉语基础课，读万卷书。开设“口语交际”、“诗词朗诵”、“国学经典”、“叙事作文”、“实用汉语阅读理解”，注重汉语语言基础，彰显汉语魅力，增强学习的趣味性，提高汉语实用性、提升海外汉语爱好者汉语学习的兴趣和能力，为开启文化之旅做知识准备。

I. Basic Chinese language courses to reading extensively We have set up courses such as Oral Communication, Poetry Recitation, Classics of Chinese Studies, Narrative Prose Composition, and Practical Chinese Reading Comprehension. We aim to focus on laying a solid foundation for learning Chinese language, highlight the charm of the language, add fun to learning, teach more practical Chinese language, increase foreign Chinese fans' interest in and capacity of learning the language, and thus prepare them with extensive knowledge for embarking on a journey to experience Chinese culture.

二、旅游探索课，行万里路。设置集现场体验、双语解说等为一体“重庆发现”文化行活动，带领海外青少年游览解放碑、重庆规划馆、中国三峡博物馆、巴渝民俗文化博物馆、长嘉汇等特色建筑和展馆实地感受重庆的历史与现代；观赏山城风光、大足石刻，感受重庆的自然和人文景观；营员们亲自观赏、品味、感受，领略重庆的发展和浓郁的乡土人情，通过重庆看中国，亲身感受中华文化上下五千年的无限魅力。

II. Exploration tour courses to travel extensively We organize the "Chongqing Discovery" cultural tour that integrates live experience and bilingual commentary, take foreign teenagers to visit buildings and venues with Chongqing characteristics such as Jiefangbei, Chongqing Planning Exhibition Gallery, Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, Bayu Folk Culture Museum, and Changjiahui to learn about the past and present of Chongqing; visit Dazu Rock Carvings, admire the natural and cultural spectacles of Chongqing. Campers can learn about Chongqing's development and its folk customs by themselves, know more about China through Chongqing, and feel the great charm of the five-millennia-old Chinese culture.

三、文化体验课，品中华文化万千韵致。开设“中国武术”、“中国民族舞蹈”、“中国民族山歌”、“中国剪纸与编织”、“汉服体验与茶道”、“中国民族乐器”等文艺鉴赏和体验课程。通过这些丰富多彩的课程与活动，让海外青少年感受中国文化的博大精深，进而传播与弘扬中华文化。

III. Chinese culture experience courses to appreciate diverse charm We offer courses for artistic appreciation and experience, including Chinese Martial Arts, Chinese Folk Dances, Chinese Folk Songs, Chinese Paper-cutting and Weaving, Hanfu and Tea Ceremony, and Chinese Ethnic Musical Instruments. Through a variety of courses and activities, foreign teenagers can feel the profoundness of Chinese culture, and then spread and carry forward Chinese culture.
