衢州市位于浙江省西部、浙江母亲河钱塘江源头、浙闽赣皖四省边际中心城市，交通便利，有“四省通衢，五路总头”之称。

Seated on the upper reach of the Qiantang River, the mother river of Zhejiang Province, Quzhou is in the scenic, mountainous western Zhejiang. Quzhou enjoys a key position in the national transportation system and has long been serving as a major connection hub for the four neighbouring provinces of Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian and Zhejiang. 

衢州是一座有着1800多年历史的国家历史文化名城，衢州孔氏南宗家庙是全国仅有的两座孔氏家庙之一，自2004年衢州孔氏南宗家庙开始举行一年一度的祭孔大典。衢州是围棋发源地，针灸圣人杨继洲的故乡。

With a history of over 1800 years, Quzhou is listed as a National Famous Historical and Cultural City. Quzhou hosts the Southern Confucius Ancestral Temple, one of the two temples in China belonging to the direct descendants of Confucius. The grand ceremony to mark the anniversary of the birth of Confucius has been held at the Southern Confucius Ancestral Temple annually since 2004. Quzhou is also known as the cradle of Chinese Go game and the hometown of Yang Jizhou, the ancient Chinese acupuncture master who was honored as the Acupuncture Saint.
