Shandong First Medical University established the "International Exchange Center" in 1996 and changed its name to "International Education College" in 2006. In 1999, he was qualified to enroll foreign students, and began to enroll foreign language students and short-term refresher students. Since 2004, he has enrolled undergraduate students in China. In 2010, he entered the list of Western medicine undergraduate students (taught in English) recruited by the Ministry of education. In 2011, he became an examination center of the national Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), and in July of the same year, he became one of the first 16 institutions to accept the foreign student scholarship of Shandong provincial government, The number of scholarships won ranked first among Shandong Medical Colleges and universities. In 2017, the application for HSK online examination was approved. In the same year, the internationalization ranking of students ranked first among universities and colleges in Shandong Province and 33rd nationwide.

除招收学历留学生外，国际教育学院还与美国、加拿大、韩国、菲律宾等多所国外大学或教育机构合作开展了短期学习项目或涉外培训项目、冬令营项目，内容涉及学习中国语言、中国历史、中国文化、中国经济、中国医学汉语课程、传统武术、太极拳、健身气功、体验民俗文化、游览泰山及曲阜等方面。同时，为创新文化体验模式，拓展文化体验领域，加深留学生对中华文化的理解，学院建立了中华文化体验基地，为留学生招生、师资队伍建设、对外汉语教学、留学生特色活动等方面提供了坚实基础。

In 2021, university successfully undertook two sessions of Chinese Bridge - Summer Camp project for Foreign Students. The themes of the two summer camps are "Visit Mount Tai, watching China ,experience culture" and "Learn Chinese online, observe cultures through the air", which attracted nearly 400 students from the United States, South Korea, Morocco, India, Pakistan and other countries to participate, and won high praise.

2021年，我院成功承办了两期汉语桥——外国学生夏令营项目。两期夏令营主题分别为“游泰山，看中国，品文化”和“线上学汉语，云中看文化”，吸引了美国、韩国、摩洛哥、印度、巴基斯坦等国家近400名学生参加，并赢得了高度好评。

The teaching team of our university has a reasonable structure, rich teaching experience and complete offline teaching resources. From February 2020, our college has launched online Chinese language and Chinese culture teaching and created an online teaching resource library.
