Zhejiang University is a comprehensive, research-oriented and innovative university with distinctive features and a great influence at home and abroad. There are 7 academic faculties, 39 academic colleges (departments), 1 engineer college, 2 China-foreign cooperative institutions, and 7 directly affiliated hospitals.

The university has 7 campuses, including Zijingang, Yuquan, Xixi, Huajiachi, Zhijiang, Zhoushan and Haining, with a total area of 6,890,108 square meters and a total library collection of 7.971 million books. By the end of 2021, the university had 63,136 full-time students, 5,609 international students, and 9,778 faculty members.

Some of the stadiums and sports facilities on Zhejiang University campus will also be used for the 19th Asian Games which will be held in 2023.

The International College of Zhejiang University is a unit directly under Zhejiang University, which is responsible for the enrollment, management and logistic services of international students, as well as the teaching of Chinese language and culture to international students. The International College is composed of the Office of General Affairs, the Office of Admissions, the Office of Teaching Affairs, the Office of Student Affairs, the Center for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and the International Student Service Center for Foreign Experts. The scale of international student education in Zhejiang University is among the top among universities in China.

There are three international Student dining halls respectively located in the  International College Building on Yuquan Campus, Overseas Student Dormitory  Building at the main gate of Yuquan Campus and Overseas Student Dormitory  Building on Hua-jia-chi Campus. Meals are served in a a la carte manner.

Students can also have your meals in the student cafeterias on different campuses. Before having meals there, you need to buy a pre-paid Meal Card from the cafeterias and it is advisable to bring your own dinnerware.

It is estimated daily expenses for decent meals will be from 35 RMB yuan to 60 RMB yuan.
