1.1 Classrooms and self-study places 教室与自习场所

The classrooms and self-study places are equally open to international students.

学校教室、自习场所均向国际学生同等开放。

1.2 Library and network information resources 图书馆与网络信息资源

The library has a self-service book borrowing and returning center, a manual helpdesk, electronic literature reading rooms, and so on. It is equipped with central air conditioners, elevators, charging sockets, boiling water rooms, etc.; All divisions have signs in both Chinese and English for ease of reference and study.

学校图书馆馆内设有自助借还中心、人工咨询台、电子文献阅览室等；配有中央空调、电梯、充电插座、开水房等；分区明显并设有中英文标识，方便学生查阅、自习。

The publically available resources in the library are equally open to international students.

学校图书馆已开放的资源向国际学生同等开放。

2. Living environment生活条件

With the different cultural backgrounds and diets of international students in mind, international student apartments and restaurants offer culture-sport facilities, public transport facilities, supermarkets, and banks, which meet the daily needs of international students.

学校充分考虑国际学生的不同文化背景及饮食差异，建有国际学生公寓、餐厅。宿舍周边文体设施、公共交通设施、超市银行等一应俱全，能满足国际学生日常生活需要。

2.1 Dining environment就餐条件

Ten comprehensive canteens and four ethnic restaurants provide catering services for more than 70,000 teachers and students. They are all rated as “Hunan Standardized Student Canteens,” with foods and processing procedures compliant with the hygienic standards. The canteen caters in multiple ways, features, and styles, including a variety of meal types such as hot pot, dry pot, simmered topping, hot stewing, roasted stewing, hot mixing, rice covered with topping, casserole, roasted meat, the soup cooked with pottery jar, steamed dishes, mixed rice, wheat noodles and buns, special snacks and coffee drinks. For example, the Chinese and Western restaurant in Shenghua Catering Building mainly provides steak, pasta, and Western-style set meal (including Western-style rice), as well as Chinese-style set meal and Chinese-style home cooking.

全校10个综合食堂、4个民族餐厅，食品及加工程序符合卫生标准，均被评为“湖南省标准化学生食堂”，为7万多师生员工提供饮食服务。食堂饭菜烹制多方法、多特色、多风格，囊括了火锅、香锅、煨码、热卤、烧卤、热拌、盖码、砂锅、烧腊、瓦罐、蒸菜、各种粉面包点、特色小吃、咖啡饮品等各式各样的餐饮类型。例如，升华餐饮楼中西餐厅主要提供牛排、意大利面、西式套餐（含西式饭），同时供应中式套餐和中式家常炒菜。

2.2 Culture-sport facilities文体设施

The stadiums locate on the Main Campus, the South Campus, the New Campus, the Xiangya Campus, and the Railway Campus, with a total area of about 190,000 square meters. There are four weatherproof arenas, one plastic track-and-field ground with a natural turf football field, four plastic track-and-field feet with an artificial turf football field, one cinder track-and-field ground, and two outdoor open-air swimming pools, 69 outdoor basketball courts, 30 volleyball courts, and 13 tennis courts.

学校体育场馆分布在本部校区、南校区、新校区、湘雅校区、铁道校区，总面积约19万平方米，共有风雨球馆4个、设有天然草足球场的塑胶田径场1个、设有人工草足球场的塑胶田径场4个、煤渣跑道田径场1个、室外露天游泳池2个、室外篮球场69片、排球场30片、网球场13片等。

Currently, a new comprehensive gymnasium is under construction on the New Campus, including basketball courts, badminton courts, swimming pools, and other sports venues.

目前新校区在建新综合体育馆，内含篮球场、羽毛球场、游泳馆等多种体育活动场所。

All the stadiums are accessible for free to teachers and students (except the swimming pool), and international students enjoy the same treatment.

学校所有体育场馆对全校师生免费开放（游泳馆除外），国际学生享受同等待遇。

I. Discipline Construction

Mathematics, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Engineering, and Traffic and Transportation Engineering are listed as “Double First Rate” disciplines; 18 ESIs disciplines, including Materials Science, Engineering, Clinical Medicine, Computer Science, Chemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Biology and Biochemistry, Neuroscience and Behavior, Mathematics, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Social Sciences, Immunology, Psychiatry and psychology, Geoscience, Environmental Science and Ecology, Agricultural Science, Physics and Microbiology are among the top 1% in the world and Materials Science, Engineering, Clinical Medicine, Computer Science, and Chemistry are among the top 1‰ in the world.

1.学科建设

学校数学、材料科学与工程、冶金工程、矿业工程、交通运输工程5个学科入选国家“双一流”建设学科；材料科学、工程学、临床医学、计算机科学、化学、药理学与毒理学、生物学与生物化学、神经科学与行为学、数学、分子生物学与遗传学、社会科学总论、免疫学、精神病学与心理学、地球科学、环境科学与生态学、农业科学、物理学、微生物学等18个学科进入基本科学指标全球前百分之一，其中材料科学、工程学、临床医学、计算机科学、化学居全球前千分之一。

4.Chinese Bridge Online Winter Camp“汉语桥”线上冬令营

The “Learn Charming Chinese, Experience Colorful China” Chinese Bridge Online Winter Camp was held by Central South University in 2021. It targeted to carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, show modern China and the charm of Chinese, and promote the enthusiasm for Chinese learning around the world. Students praised the camp for its great content and diversified forms, including Chinese teaching, cultural experience, lectures on particular topics, and exchanges between China and foreign countries. Over 170 campers from 24 countries completed the courses.

我校承办的2021年“汉语桥”线上冬令营项目以“体验魅力汉语  感知多彩中国”为主题，旨在弘扬中华优秀传统文化，展现当代中国，彰显汉语魅力，助推世界各国汉语学习热。项目共分为“汉语教学”“文化体验”“专题讲座”“中外交流”四大学习板块，内容丰富，形式多样，深受学员喜爱。来自24个国家的170余名营员顺利结业。

5.项目特色 Project features

Meet in Changsha — Summer Camp on Intangible Cultural Heritage“与你‘湘’约  爱上非遗”夏令营

This summer camp initiates to show the cultural characteristics of Hunan. Campers will visit the National Forest Park in Zhangjiajie and experience the culture and customs of the Minorities in the ancient town of Fenghuang. They will explore the well-known millenarian academy and experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture and ideas. They will also visit the Lighthouse Factory — the SANY Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. to appreciate the cutting-edge glamor of technology in the manufacturing industry.

此夏令营项目将展示湖湘文化特色，带领营员们游览张家界武陵源国家森林公园，走进湘西凤凰古城，体验少数民族风情；探秘“千年学府”，感受中华传统文化与思想魅力；参观“灯塔工厂”——三一重工，领略制造业的科技力量。

Combined with Chinese learning and intangible cultural heritage experience, campers will learn Chinese and gain a better understanding of Chinese culture by experiencing intangible cultural heritages of handmade dough figurines and facial makeup of Beijing Opera. The language classroom extends to Taiping Street, a famous and time-honored street in Changsha, where campers will enjoy the traditional snacks of Changsha and admire the glory of intangible cultural heritages.

将汉语学习与非遗体验相结合，让营员们在动手体验非遗面塑、京剧脸谱的同时，学习汉语，增进对中国文化的了解。将语言实践课堂延伸到长沙网红打卡地太平老街，营员们可以在品尝长沙特色传统小吃的同时，感受非遗文化焕发的夺目光彩。

学校国际学生公寓分布在南校区、湘雅新校区、湘雅老校区和铁道校区4个校区。

The apartments for international students are distributed on the Southern Campus, the Xiangya School of Medicine (New campus), the Xiangya School of Medicine (Old campus)， and the Railway Campus.

公寓配有公共洗衣房、公共厨房、电梯，房间配有独立卫生间、空调、热水、无线网络、阳台等，并有独立的床、床垫、书柜、桌椅等家具及床上用品。楼内按要求配备消防器材，每层楼装有监控摄像。公寓楼区设有机动车停车场、自行车停车棚、充电桩等，基础设施完善，生活便利。

The apartments have public laundry rooms, public kitchens, and elevators, which contain private bathrooms, air conditioners, balconies, hot water, and Wi-Fi, as well as furniture and bedding, including beds, mattresses, bookcases, tables, and chairs. Fire-fighting equipment is provided inside the building, and surveillance cameras are installed on each floor. Complete facilities such as parking lots, bicycle sheds， and charging piles are also set up, which can bring great convenience to students’ life.

每栋楼设有值班室，一楼入口配备门禁系统。楼内有专人负责物业，负责保洁及24小时值班。

Every building has a duty room with an access control system at the entrance on the first floor. Besides, designees are in charge of property management, cleaning, and 24-hour duty.
