国际交流中心是来华团组接待的主要场所，设有多功能报告厅、会议室、VIP会客厅等10个，可同时安排接近400人办公、培训、会议、演出等；设有标准间、套房等客房97间，可同时接180人住宿；设有食堂1个，提供中西餐食菜品，包间20个、自助餐厅2个，可同时安排400人就餐。

西南林业大学校内拥有标本馆、古茶树资源馆、艺术博物馆等一批独特展馆。其中，标本馆设有生物多样性展厅、森林植物标本室、木材标本室、森林昆虫标本室、森林植物病理标本室、野生动物标本室共6大展厅，收藏有植物、脊椎动物、昆虫、木材、植物病理与真菌五大类标本近50余万份，是国家林业和草原局和云南省科普教育基地；学校建有古茶树保护与可持续利用国家创新联盟、世界茶叶图书馆、世界茶树原产地古茶树资源展等，古茶树资源丰富。
