Heilongjiang province is located in the northeastern part of the country. “Heilongjiang” literally means Black Dragon River, which is the Chinese name for the Amur River. Heilongjiang has an area of more than 460,000 square kilometers. It borders the provinces of Inner Mongolia to the west, Jilin to the south and Russia on the northeast. 索菲亚教堂

公元1903年，随着中东铁路的建成通车，沙俄东西伯利亚第四步兵师也侵入了哈尔滨。沙俄为了稳定远离家乡士兵的军心，于1907年破土动工建造圣索非亚教堂，当年一座全木结构的教堂落成，用作该步兵师的随军教堂。1923年9月27日，圣索非亚教堂举行了第二次重建奠基典礼，经过长达9年的精心施工，一座富丽堂皇，典雅超俗的建筑精品竣工落成圣索菲亚教堂位于哈尔滨市内，是远东地区最大的东正教堂，通高53.35米，占地面积721平方米，是拜占庭式建筑的典型代表。1996年11月，被列为全国重点文物保护单位；1997年6月，圣索菲亚教堂修复并更名为哈尔滨市建筑艺术馆。 巍峨壮美的圣索菲亚教堂，构成了哈尔滨独具异国情调的人文景观和城市风情，同时，它又是沙俄入侵东北的历史见证和研究哈尔滨市近代历史的重要珍迹。

Sophia Church

In 1903, the tsarist infantry division of east Siberia invaded Harbin after the Middle East railway’s completion. In order to stabilize the soldiers who were far away from their motherland, tsarist made up its mind to build an entire timberwork Sophia church which would serve for Russian army. The second restored foundation ceremony was held for Sophia church On Sep. 27th 1923, after nine years’ meticulous construction, a magnificent construction was completed and put to use in Harbin. Nowadays, Sophia church is the greatest Nicolas church in the Far East, with 53.35 meters in height and 721 square meters in area, and also is typical architecture style of Byzantium. Sophia church was restored, and renamed Harbin Architectural Arts Gallery in June, 1997. Magnificent and beautiful Sophia church embodies unique exotic human landscape and customs of Harbin. Meanwhile, it is also the witness of tsarist aggression and diachronic vestige for Harbin historical research.

中央大街

哈尔滨中央大街步行街是目前亚洲最大最长的步行街，始建于1898年，初称"中国大街"。1925年改称为沿袭至今的"中央大街"，现在发展成为哈尔滨市最繁华的商业街。大街北起松花江防洪纪念塔，南至经纬街，全长1450米，宽21.34米，其中车行方石路10.8米宽。被誉称"哈尔滨第一街"的中央大街，以其独特的欧式建筑，鳞次栉比的精品商厦，花团锦簇的休闲小区以及异彩纷呈的文化生活，成为哈尔滨市一道亮丽的风景线。欧洲风格满布中央大街的欧式建筑，五步一典，十步一观。在西方建筑史上几百年才形成的建筑风格样式，使得中央大街成为远东最著名的街道。欧洲最具魅力的近300年文化发展史，在中央大街上体现的淋漓尽致,其涵盖历史的精深久远和展示建筑艺术的博大精深，为世上少见。

Central Avenue

The central avenue is the widest and longest Pedestrian Street in Asia which was founded in 1898, and the preceding name is “Chinese Main Street”. It was renamed Central Avenue since 1925, and it has already been the most prosperous business street at present. The north starts from flood control monument of Songhua river, and south end towards Jingwei street, the span of which is 1,450 meters and 21.34 in width, including 10.8 meters driving ashlars’ street. With the good reputation – “the first street of Harbin”, the Central Avenue is characterized with European architecture styles, row upon rows of boutique rich multicolored decorations entertainment villages and colorful cultural life, and was regarded as one streak of varies scenic byways of Harbin. 东北虎林园
