广东食品药品职业学院是经广东省人民政府批准、教育部备案的公办全日制普通高等职业院校，是国家优质专科高等职业院校、中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划立项建设单位、第一批国家示范性职业教育集团培育单位、广东省示范性高职院校。

学校以专科层次教育为主，专业涵盖工、理、医、管、艺等门类，人才培养纳入广东省卫生和健康委员会、广东省药品监督管理局和广东省中医药局的人才管理范畴，同时承担了三个系统教育培训的具体组织实施工作，是培养药学、中药、食品、化妆品、医疗器械、医护卫生、健康管理等大健康产业高素质技术技能人才的摇篮。

Guangdong Food and Drug Vocational College(GFDVC) is a full-time public higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and registered with the Ministry of Education. The College is rated as the “Guangdong Provincial Model Higher Vocational College”, “National High-quality Vocational College”, and is selected as a member unit of the “High-level Vocational Colleges with Chinese Characteristics and Professional Construction Plan” and one of the “National Model Vocational Education Cultivation Units”.

The college focuses on vocational education, covering the fields of engineering, science, medicine, management, arts and other categories.  It is the cradle for cultivating high-quality technical talents in health-related industries, such as pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, food, cosmetics, medical device, medical care and hygiene, health management.

学校1965年建校，经过半个多世纪的发展壮大，目前有龙洞和白云两个校区。学校设有马克思主义学院、中医保健学院、护理学院、制药工程学院、药学院、健康管理与生物技术学院、中药学院、食品学院、管理学院、医疗器械学院、化妆品与艺术设计学院、国际交流中心、软件学院、继续教育学院等14个教学单位。目前主校高职全日制在校生16678人，成教函授生5802人。现有专任教师663人，教授等正高级职称46人，副教授等高级职称209人，博士、博士后113人，76.3%的专任教师具有硕士及以上学位，86.4%专任教师具有“双师素质”。校园总面积1233亩，校舍建筑面积达到26.8万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值达15442.29万元，拥有实验实训场地面积4.488万平方米，46个校内实训基地，1371个校外实习基地。

The College was founded in 1965, and after half a century of development, GFDVC has grown to have two campuses in Longdong and Baiyun. At present, there are 14 teaching units in the college, including School of Marxism, School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health Care, School of Nursing, School of Pharmaceutical Engineering, School of Medicine, School of Health Management and Biotechnology, School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, School of Food, School of Management, School of Medical Devices, School of Cosmetics and Art Design,  School of Software, School of Continuing Education, and International Exchange Center. Currently, there are 16,678 full-time students and 5,802 adult correspondence students enrolled in the college. GFDVC has a faculty of 663 full-time teachers, including 46 professors or equivalents, 209 associate professors or equivalents, and 113 doctoral and post-doctoral degree-holders. There are 76.3% of full-time teachers have master’s degree or above and 86.4% of full-time teachers have double qualified certifications. The college campus covers a total area of 1,233 acres, and has a construction area of 268,000 square meters. The teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment worth 154.4229 million yuan. The experimental training site covers an area of 44,880 square meters. Additionally, GFDVC has 46 on-campus training bases and 1,371 off-campus training and practice bases.

学校开发了以中医药传统文化、中药养生等为主题的短期培训，并招收外国留学生，实现本土优质教育资源输出，传承和弘扬中华医药文化。

The school has developed short-term training programs themed around traditional Chinese medicine culture and Chinese herbal health preservation, and has enrolled international students to realize the export of high-quality local educational resources, inherit and promote Chinese medicine culture.
