滨州学院是一所省属全日制综合性普通本科院校，坐落在中国古代著名军事家“兵圣”孙武的故乡、渤海之滨、富饶美丽的黄河三角洲腹地现代生态园林型城市——滨州市。

学校历史可以追溯到1954年，2004年经教育部批准改建为滨州学院。校园占地131.3万平方米，校舍建筑面积72.2万平方米。教学科研仪器设备总值2.7亿元。图书馆纸质图书192.5万册，电子图书121.5万册。学校设面向全国30个省（市、自治区）招生，全日制普通在校生18000余人。学校现有专任教师1126人，其中，博士366人，教授、副教授426人。

学校坚持质量立校，以立德树人为根本任务，主动适应行业和区域经济社会发展需求，调整优化学科专业结构，初步形成了以工为主，工、理、经、管、文、教、艺术等学科专业相互支撑、协调发展的专业结构。拥有19个二级学院，2个硕士专业学位点，61个本科专业，2个本科中外合作办学项目。

学校紧紧围绕经济社会发展需求，构建起以应用型学科为主体，以服务航空学科群和服务区域学科群为两翼，以理学、信息、人文学科专业群为支撑的“一体两翼三支撑”学科布局。形成了以工科为主，各学科协同发展，航空特色和区域特色鲜明的高水平学科体系。

学校坚持走特色办学之路，精心打造飞行技术和黄河三角洲生态、黄河三角洲文化、孙子文化研究等特色品牌。围绕服务我国民航事业，2006年设置了飞行技术专业，组建了飞行学院，成为全国第一家培养飞行员的地方普通本科院校；现有飞行学院、航空工程学院、机场学院、乘务学院等4个航空类学院，有飞行驾驶、飞行安全、民航机务工程、空中交通管理与签派、机场运行与管理、飞行器动力工程、飞行器制造工程、航空服务艺术与管理等13个航空类专业（方向）。

借助地域地缘和文化优势，建有山东省黄河三角洲生态环境重点实验室、山东省黄河三角洲文化研究基地、山东省高校孙子兵法与兵学研究基地等，积极开展黄河三角洲生态环境、文化和孙子文化研究，取得了一系列成果。

学校不断深化国际合作与交流，与美国、英国、法国、加拿大、澳大利亚、俄罗斯等国家的54余所大学、教育机构建立了交流与合作关系，先后举办了市场营销、学前教育、软件技术、交通运输、飞行器制造工程5个中外合作办学项目，国际化进程不断加快。

Binzhou University is a regular comprehensive public university affiliated to Shandong Provincial Government. It is located in the modern and ecological landscape type city---Binzhou City, which is the birthplace of Sun Tzu (the well-known Chinese ancient military strategist in the 6th Century B.C.) near the Coast of Bohai Sea and in the hinterland of rich and beautiful Yellow River Delta.

The history can date back to 1954, and in 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education，it was rebuilt as Binzhou University. It covers an area of 1.313 million square meters; The building area is 722,000 square meters; the total value of the facilities and equipment of teaching and scientific research is 270 million Yuan. There are 1.925 million volumes of paper-books, 1.215 million electronic books. It enrolls students from 30 provinces, cities or autonomous regions of China, with more than 18000 full-time ordinary students. There are 1,126 full-time teachers, including 366 doctors and 426 professors and associate professors.

Insisting on running the school with high quality and regarding morality education as fundamental task, Binzhou University actively adjusts and optimizes discipline and specialty structure to meet the requirements of profession and regional economic and social development and preliminarily forms the discipline and specialty system of giving priority to Engineering and harmoniously developing Engineering, Sciences, Economics, Management, Liberal Arts, Pedagogy, and Fine Arts. Binzhou University  has 2 master's degree programs, 61 undergraduate specialties, and 2 undergraduate Sino-foreign cooperative education programs，distributed to 19 colleges.

Focusing on the needs of economic and social development, Binzhou University has built a “one body, two wings and three supports” disciplines with applied disciplines as the main body, service aviation discipline groups and service regional discipline groups as two wings, and science, information, and humanities major groups as support. A high-level discipline system with engineering as the main subject, coordinated development of various disciplines, and distinctive aviation and regional characteristics has been formed. 

Binzhou University adheres to running the school with own characteristics and has created such famous brands as flight technology, Yellow River Delta Ecology, Yellow River Delta Culture , Sun Tzu Culture Research, and so on. Centering on serving the career of Chinese civil aviation, Binzhou University set up the major of Flight Technology and founded Flight College in 2006, which is the first local regular undergraduate university to cultivate pilots in China. At present, Binzhou University has 4 aviation colleges, that is, Flight College, Aviation Engineering College, Airport College and Cabin Attendant College, and 13 aviation specialties, that is, Piloting, Flight Safety, Civil Aviation Maintenance Engineering, Air Traffic Management and Dispatch, Airport Operation and Management, Flight Vehicle Propulsion Engineering, Flight Vehicle Manufacture Engineering and Aviation Service Art and Management.

By virtue of regional and cultural advantages, Binzhou University has established Shandong Yellow River Delta Eco-environmental Key Laboratory, Shandong Yellow River Delta Cultural Research Base, and Shandong University Research Base for the Art of War and Military Science, so that a series of research achievements have been made in Yellow River Delta Eco-environment, culture and Sun Tzu Culture.

Binzhou University has continuously deepened international cooperation and exchanges, established friendly cooperative relationships with more than 54 universities or educational institutes in USA, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Australia, Russia etc., and has successively run 5 Sino-Foreign Cooperative Programs, such as Marketing, Pre-school Education, Software Technology, Transportation, Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering etc. The international process has been accelerated continuously.
