青岛农业大学始建于1951年，建有城阳、平度、莱阳、蓝谷四个校区和现代农业科技服务中心。学校总占地面积5220亩。
Qingdao Agricultural University （referred to as QAU） was founded in 1951, and now has four campuses，namely Chengyang, Pingdu, Laiyang and Blue Valley, and a Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park in Jiaozhou. QAU covers a total area of 5220 MU（about 860 acres）.

在长期的办学实践中，学校铸就了“厚德、博学、笃行、致远”的校训和“勤奋、严谨、求实、创新”的校风，已发展成为一所农、工、理、经、管、文、艺、法等多学科性大学，设有25个教学院部，82个本科专业，2个博士学位授权一级学科，14个硕士学位授权一级学科，13个专业学位硕士授权类别，全日制在校生3万余人。学校拥有各类国家级人才100余人次，省部级人才200余人次。学校植物学与动物学、农业科学、化学学科、工程学学科、环境与生态学学科位居ESI全球排名前1%。水产学科、植物学与动物学（含草学）为山东省一流学科。
From the long-term operations of the school, the university has formed the school motto of "Virtue, Erudition, Earnestness and Aspiration" and its school spirit of "Diligence, Discipline, Practicality and Innovation". Today’s QAU has developed into a well-balanced comprehensive university, which covers 8 disciplines including Agricultural Science, Engineering, Natural Science, Economics, Management, Literature, Art and Law. QAU has 25 schools (departments) and provides 82 undergraduate programs, 2 Ph.D. programs of First-level disciplines，14 postgraduate programs from First-level disciplines, and 13 professional postgraduate programs. Currently, QAU now has over 30,000 full-time students (in total). The university has more than 100 national-level talents and more than 200 provincial and ministerial-level talents. The university’s Plant & Animal Science, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Engineering and Environment/ Ecology are among the top 1% of ESI in the world, and Aquaculture, Plant & Animal Science (including Grass Science) are first-class disciplines in Shandong Province.

学校坚持围绕国家和地方重大战略需求设立研究课题，面向生产实际开展基础和应用研究。1978年以来，累计获得238项省部级以上科技成果奖励，其中14项国家级科技奖励、37项省部级成果一等奖，获奖数量和层次在山东省属高校位居前列。十二五以来，年度科研经费一直保持在1亿元以上，2011-2021年科研活动总经费达29.1亿元，在2017年教育部公布的中国高校科技经费排名中，我校排名全国高校第161位，列山东省属高校第5位；获国家自然科学基金项目总计429项，居于山东省属高校前列。
The university persists in setting up research projects to meet national and local key strategic needs, and carries out basic and applied research oriented to production practice. Since 1978, QAU has been taking a leading position among all provincial universities in Shandong since the university has won 238 provincial-level or ministry-level science and technology awards, among which, 14 are national-level awards and 37 are provincial-level or ministry-level awards. Since the 12th Five-Year Plan, the annual scientific research funding has been over 100 million yuan, and the total scientific research funding from 2011 to 2021 has reached 2.91 billion yuan. In the ranking of Chinese universities' scientific and technological funding released by the Ministry of Education in 2017, QAU ranked 161st in China and 5th in Shandong Province. It has 429 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and ranks among the top universities in Shandong Province.

学校积极对接产业发展需求，社会服务成果显著。学校服务区域实现山东省全覆盖，并延伸到新疆、海南等20个省市自治区，高质量建设了57处示范基地和10处区域研究院。探索构建了科技特派员社会服务的“1+5”青农大模式，2019年学校作为山东省唯一高校类科技特派员组织实施单位受到科技部通报表扬，2021年获评全省事业单位脱贫攻坚专项奖励记大功集体。
The school actively meets the needs of industrial development and makes remarkable achievements in social services. The university's service area covers all of Shandong Province and extends to other 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions such as Xinjiang and Hainan. 57 demonstration bases and 10 regional research institutes have been built with high quality. In 2019, Qingdao Agricultural University was praised by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the only organization and implementation unit of science and technology special commissioners in Shandong Province. In 2021, Qingdao Agricultural University was awarded the Provincial public institutions Special Award for poverty alleviation.

坚持“学术性、高端化、国际化”办学之路。与韩国首尔大学、加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚大学、荷兰瓦赫宁根大学、澳大利亚莫道克大学、英国皇家农业大学等20多个国家和地区的100多所高校和科研机构建立了友好合作关系，是山东省最早接收外国留学生的省属高校之一。与英国皇家农业大学联合设立了非独立法人的中外合作办学机构，与美国、韩国、日本、泰国、新西兰等国家的20多所合作院校开展本升硕项目，与澳大利亚莫道克大学建立了博士研究生联合培养机制，构建了涵盖本科生、硕士研究生、博士研究生的完整国际化人才联合培养体系。
Sticking to the “Academic, High-level, and International” principle, QAU has established collaborations with over 100 universities and scientific institutions in over 20 countries and areas, including Seoul National University in South Korea, the University of British Columbia in Canada, Wageningen University in the Netherlands, Murdoch University in Australia, and Royal Agricultural University in the UK. QAU is also among the first group of provincial universities to admit international students in Shandong province. It has jointly established a joint institute with the Royal Agricultural University of the United Kingdom, carried out the undergraduate and master's programs with more than 20 cooperative universities in the United States, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand and other countries, established a joint training mechanism for doctoral students with Murdoch University in Australia, and built a complete international talent joint training system covering undergraduates, master's students and doctoral students.
