浙江工商大学坐落于风景秀丽的杭州，前身是创建于1911年的杭州中等商业学堂，创校之初即为我省商业教育之先驱，也是我国最早创办的商业专门学校之一。1980年经国务院批准成立杭州商学院，2004年经教育部批准更名为浙江工商大学。百余年来学校一直秉承商科办学传统，尤其是1998年从原商业部直属院校改为“中央与地方共建，以地方管理为主”以来，学校坚持走特色办学之路，以经济学、管理学学科为主，法学、工学等多学科协调发展，办学水平不断提高。2015年，学校被确定为浙江省人民政府、商务部和教育部共建大学。2017年，学校被确定为浙江省重点建设高校，统计学、工商管理学科入选省优势特色学科名单。

学校由下沙、教工路和桐庐3个校区组成，占地182.67万平方米。学校现有教职工2600余人，其中专任教师2100余人，博士生导师130余人，正高职称400余人，副高职称720余人，博士1190余人。拥有双聘院士、长江学者、国家杰青、国家优青、浙江省特级专家、国家“万人计划”、百千万人才工程国家级人选、教育部新世纪优秀人才、全国文化名家暨“四个一批”人才、国家宣传思想文化青年英才等高层次人才。现有全日制本科生26800余人，各类研究生5100余人，留学生990余人，各类高等学历继续教育学生2万余人。

学校学科门类齐全，现有71个本科专业，涵盖经济学、管理学、法学、文学、理学、工学、历史学、哲学、艺术学等9大门类。拥有博士学位、硕士学位、学士学位授予权，硕士专业学位授予权，外国留学生、港澳台学生招生权。学校拥有7个一级学科博士点、16个一级学科硕士点、20个专业学位授权点，设有4个博士后流动站。

Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJSU) is located in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province. It was firstly established as Hangzhou Secondary Business School in 1911. At the beginning of its establishment, it served as the forerunner of business education in Zhejiang province and one of the earliest commercial-specialized schools in China. The school became a public university approved by the State Council and was renamed as Hangzhou Institute of Commerce in 1980. It was renamed Zhejiang Gongshang University with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2004. For more than a hundred years, the school has been adhering to the tradition of running a business school. Especially since 1998, when the school was changed from the college directly under the former Ministry of Commerce to a university “jointly built by the central and local governments, focusing on local management”, the school has been adhering to the road of running a school with characteristics, focusing on economics and management, coordinated development of law, engineering and other disciplines. With the continuous improvement of school running level and quality, in 2015, ZJSU was identified as a Co-construction University of People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Education. In 2017, the school was selected as one of the Key Universities in Zhejiang Province. Statistics and Business Administration were selected as provincial top and characteristic disciplines.
ZJSU consists of three campuses: Xiasha campus, Jiaogong Road campus and Tonglu campus of Hangzhou Business College, covering an area of 1.826 million square meters. ZJSU has more than 2600 faculty staff, 2100 of whom are full-time teachers, including more than 400 professors (130 of them are doctoral supervisors), 720 associate professors and more than 1190 doctors. ZJSU also boasts high-level scholars and experts, such as Members of China Academy of Science, National Distinguished Experts, Yangtze River Scholars, Zhejiang Provincial Distinguished Experts, etc.. ZJSU has over 26,800 full-time undergraduates, over 3,800 graduates, and more than 990 overseas students.
ZJSU is a comprehensive university with 71 bachelor’s degree programs, covering 9 academic areas including economics, management, law, literature, history, philosophy, engineering, science and arts. The university is also entitled to enroll overseas students as well as students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. ZJSU has 7 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines, 16 master degree programs in first-level disciplines, 20 master of professional studies programs (covering 25 fields) and 4 postdoctorate research centers.
