西安石油大学成立于1951年，是中国西北地区唯一一所以石油石化为特色的高等公立高校。学校设有16个学院、2个直属系部。现有教职工1840余人，其中专任教师1290余人，有博士生导师、硕士生导师580余人；学校针对国家能源战略和区域经济社会发展需要，大力开展科学研究，科研实力不断提升。近五年年，新增国家自然科学基金、国家社会科学基金等国家级和省部级研究项目720项, 科研总经费8亿元。 学校积极开展对国际流与合作。与美国、加拿大、英国、澳大利亚、德国、俄罗斯 哈萨克斯坦、马来西亚、南非等国家的87所高校（机构）建立了合作交流关系。 目前来华留学生类别已涵盖中英文授课本科生、中英文授课硕士研究生、语言 进修生、短期生等多种层次和类别，累计培养来自87个国家的来华留学生8000余人。

Founded in 1951, Xi'an Shiyou University is the only higher public university in northwest China featuring petroleum and petrochemical technology. The university currently has 16 colleges and two directly affiliated departments. There are more than 1840 teaching staffs, including 1290 full-time professor, 580 Phd degree supervisors and master supervisors for the university and the needs of the national energy strategy and regional economic and social development. In the past five years, 720 national and provincial-level research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Foundation, with a total research funding of 800 million yuan. The school actively carries out international flow and cooperation. It has established cooperation and exchange relations with 87 universities (institutions) in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Russian Kazakhstan, Malaysia, South Africa and other countries. At present, the categories of students in China have covered Chinese and English undergraduates, Chinese and English students, Chinese and English students, language students, short-term students, a total of more than 8,000 students from 87 countries.
