广西民族大学坐落于广西首府南宁市风景秀丽的相思湖畔，创办于1952年，2006年更名为广西民族大学。学校现有东校区、西校区和武鸣3个校区，占地面积3500多亩。设有26个学院，现有在校生19707人，其中少数民族学生占50%，涵盖了汉、壮、瑶、苗、回、蒙古等53个民族。

在长期的办学过程中，学校砥砺出“厚德博学和而不同”的校训，形成了“民族性、区域性、国际性”的办学特色，先后多次荣获“全国先进基层党组织”、“全国党的建设和思想政治工作先进普通高校”、“全国民族团结进步模范单位”、全国文明单位”、自治区文明单位”、“广西民族团结进步先进集体”、“广西五一劳动奖状”等荣誉称号。

Guangxi University for Nationalities located by the beautiful Xiangsi Lake in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was founded in 1952 and renamed Guangxi University for Nationalities in 2006. With 3 campuses, Guangxi University for Nationalities covers a total area of 3500 Mu .It comprises 26 colleges with the enrollment of 19707, 50% of which are ethnic minority students. The university is a big family composed of 53 ethnic groups including the Han, Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Hui and Mongols.

Over its long course of development, the university has coined the motto of “pursuing nobleness and erudition, seeking harmony rather than conformity”and has been characterized by“being ethnic solidarity-oriented, ASEAN region-oriented and international-oriented”.
