The 2022 online exchange program is based on the three-in-one design model of Chinese language enhancement, Chinese culture understanding and online cultural experience, highlighting the language context, local cultural characteristics, and the historical comparison of time and space. While mastering authentic Chinese, students can have a specific understanding of the broad and profound Chinese culture, such as food and architecture, and the past and present of modern engineering, through which Chinese stories are well told and the ability of international communication ability is greatly enhanced. The language course includes lectures on Practical Chinese, Chinese Grammar, Chinese phonology, interesting Chinese tongue twisters and Interesting Chinese Tones, with a total of 23 teaching hours. Cultural lectures and experiential courses include lectures on Chinese local folktales, the past and present of the Grand Canal, history of the production of the royal bricks, introduction to South-to-North Water Diversion, local food exhibition, contemporary Chinese film appreciation and traditional Chinese musical instrument playing and appreciation along the Grand Canal, with a total of 22 teaching hours. Through the study of the program, students can modify their Chinese pronunciation, understand Chinese grammar system, improve the ability in comprehensive Chinese expression, but also through the lectures about local Chinese folk tales, Chinese movies, Chinese Musical Instruments along the Grand Canal, students can understand how China apply modern communication means to carry forward the traditional Chinese values, and know about how China perceives the world beyond China and how it advocates the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind. Through this program, students will have an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture, stimulate their interest in learning Chinese language and meet their needs for understanding Chinese language and culture, so as to achieve the teaching objectives of strengthening cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, serving the goals of opening up of education in the new era, and enhancing China's linguistic and culture influence.
