2009年，石河子大学开始与哈萨克斯坦首任总统纳扎尔巴耶夫母校卡拉干达国立技术大学商量合作共建孔子学院事宜，经过近两年的协商、筹备，卡拉干达国立技术大学孔子学院于2012年11月27日正式揭牌。这也正式开启了石河子大学汉语国际推广的道路。

2013年，在成功运营卡拉干达国立技术大学孔子学院的基础上，石河子大学分别在俄罗斯阿尔泰国立技术大学和卡拉干达国立大学设立汉语中心，在国家汉办的支持下，石河子大学每年向汉语中心选派优秀汉语教师，并与上述两所高校进行学生互换项目。

在一所孔院和两所汉语中心的基础上，石河子大学邀请北京语言大学、重庆大学等对外汉语方向教授来校讲学，全额报销汉语教师和汉语教师志愿者考试和培训费用，全额保留外派教师校内工资等方式为培养汉语师资创造良好条件，十年间，先后向俄罗斯、英国、韩国、白俄罗斯、厄瓜多尔等国派出20多名汉语教师和近50名汉语教师志愿者。为石河子大学进一步拓展海外汉语教学打下了良好的基础。

十四五期间，石河子大学计划与对外经济与贸易大学合作，在乌兹别克斯坦再建一所孔子学院，同时，在俄罗斯乌拉尔国立经济大学再建一所汉语中心。形成“两院三中心”的格局，继续拓展汉语国际推广版图。

“山不辞土，故能成其高，海不辞水，故能成其深”，在经历中国两个百年未有之大变局时期，石河子大学秉承一步一个脚印，稳扎稳打的思路，不忘初心，牢记使命，以汉语国际推广助推大学国际化，为建设全面高水平的大学贡献自己的力量。

In 2013, on the basis of the successful operation of the Confucius Institute at Karaganda National Technical University, Shihezi University established Chinese language centers at Altai State Technical University and Karaganda National University in Russia. With the support of Hanban, Shihezi University provides the Chinese center selects outstanding Chinese teachers and conducts student exchange programs with the above two universities.

On the basis of a Confucius Institute and two Chinese Language Centers, Shihezi University invites professors from Beijing Language and Culture University and Chongqing University to teach Chinese as a foreign language, and fully reimburses the test and training fees for Chinese teachers and volunteer Chinese teachers, and reserves the full amount of In-university salaries for expatriate teachers have created good conditions for cultivating Chinese language teachers. Over the past ten years, more than 20 Chinese language teachers and nearly 50 Chinese language teacher volunteers have been sent to Russia, Britain, South Korea, Belarus, Ecuador and other countries. It has laid a good foundation for Shihezi University to further expand overseas Chinese teaching.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Shihezi University plans to cooperate with the University of International Business and Economics to build a Confucius Institute in Uzbekistan, and at the same time, to build a Chinese language center in the Ural State University of Economics in Russia. Form a pattern of "two hospitals and three centers" and continue to expand the territory of Chinese international promotion.
