From January 5 to March 6, 2022, the School of Foreign Languages of Chongqing University of Technology will hold the 2022 “Chinese Bridge” Online Winter Camp of Chongqing University of Technology for Chinese learners and enthusiasts all over the world. This Winter Camp consists of three projects, including “Cloud Traveling in the Magical Mountain City to Feel and Experience the Modern Chongqing”, “Pursuing Chinese Flavors, Walking into Chongqing Featuring Tasty Delicacies” and “Mutual Appreciation of Civilizations Ascends Time and Space---Cloud Dialogue Among Youth from China and Vietnam”. Among these projects, the “Mutual Appreciation of Civilizations Ascends Time and Space---Cloud Dialogue Among Youth from China and Vietnam” will last for two months, with a total of 10 hours of Chinese lessons, 8 hours of cultural theme teaching, 8 hours of live tours, a “Chinese Traditional Culture Show” activity, and a variety of video courses. The lecturer broadcasts live and guides the students to walk through the streets and alleys, contacting Chinese folk customs and natural scenery in an all-round way and forming the characteristics of this Winter Camp. 160 undergraduates from Vietnam have signed up for the project and carried out full and in-depth exchanges with more than 70 Chinese teachers and students during their short study time. This project aims to build a platform for students to improve their Chinese proficiency and perceive Chinese culture from multiple perspectives through online Chinese learning on three themes, i.e. cultural symbols, cultural memory and contemporary life on the one hand, and on the other hand, through communication and dialogue, the project can present a real, three-dimensional and vivid image of each other’s country for the youth from China and Vietnam from the synchronic and diachronic dimensions, thus enhancing their mutual recognition.
