河北师范大学起源于1902年创建于北京的顺天府学堂和1906年创建于天津的北洋女师范学堂，是河北省人民政府与教育部共建的省属重点大学，河北省“双一流”建设一层次高校。
　　学校新校区占地122公顷，馆藏图书303万册，中外文数据库67 个。学校现设25个专业学院，1个独立学院（汇华学院）。拥有博士学位授权一级学科11个，博士专业学位授权点1个；硕士学位授权一级学科29个，硕士专业学位授权点14个；有本科专业91个。学科专业覆盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学等十个学科门类。学校现有在职教职工2598人，其中专任教师1650人，中国科学院院士1人，省级以上各类优秀专家225人次，博士研究生导师170人，硕士研究生导师822人。在校本科生24303人，研究生5203人，成人教育学生10592人。
　　学校广泛开展国际合作与交流。已与23个国家的87所高校和教育机构建立了正式合作关系，在合作办学、教师交流、学生互换、网络课程、科研合作和国际引智等方面和200多所国外大学开展交往，办学国际化水平逐步提升。学校是“中国政府奖学金”和“国际中文教师奖学金/孔子学院奖学金”国际学生接收单位，每年有来自俄、美、意、韩、印尼、巴基斯坦等国家的长、短期语言及学历学位国际学生400余人。已建成3所孔子学院和1所孔子课堂，合作建设了1所葡中双语高中、1所海外学院、2所海外预科学院，向20多个国家选派了汉语教师志愿者，积极参与汉语国际推广。组建了秘鲁研究中心、印尼研究中心、中俄远东研究中心和巴基斯坦研究中心，着力构建区域研究平台。

　　Hebei Normal University originated from Shuntianfu School in Beijing and Beiyang Women's Normal School in Tianjin, which were founded in 1902 and 1906 respectively. It is a key provincial university jointly established by the People’s Government of Hebei Province and the Ministry of Education, one of first tier universities of Hebei Provincial "Two First-class" higher education institutions.
　　The university’s new campus covers an area of 122 hectares. The university library has 3.03 million volumes of books and 67 databases in Chinese or foreign languages. The university consists of 25 colleges and 1 independent campus (Huihua College). With doctorate authorization in 11 primary disciplines, 1 professional doctorate authorization, master’s degree authorization in 29 primary disciplines, 14 professional master’s degree authorizations, the university provides 91 undergraduate programs and covers 10 disciplines including literature, history, art, economics, management, law, education, science, technology and philosophy. Now it embraces 2,598 staff, of which 1,650 are full-time teachers. Among the faculty, there is one CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) academician, 225 outstanding experts of provincial level and above, 170 doctorate supervisors, and 822 master’s supervisors. The university has 24,303 undergraduate students, 5,203 graduate students and 10,592 students of furthering education.
　　Hebei Normal University keeps extensive cooperation and academic exchanges internationally and has established formal cooperative relationships with 87 higher institutions and educational agencies from 23 countries. The level of the university’ internationalization is gradually improving with the development of relations with over 200 foreign universities in multiple areas, including cooperative education, teacher collaboration, student exchange, online courses, research collaboration and international talent recruitment. Hebei Normal University accepts international students funded by the Chinese Government Scholarship, the International Chinese Teachers Scholarship/ Confucius Institute Scholarship et al, yearly admitting over 400 short- and long-term language students as well as degree students from the Russia, the USA, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan, and other countries. The university has established 3 Confucius Institutes and 1 Confucius Classroom, cooperatively established 1 Portuguese-Chinese bilingual high school, 1 overseas college and 2 overseas preparatory schools, and has sent volunteer teachers to more than 20 countries, actively participating in the internationalized Chinese education. The university has also set up Peru Research Center, Indonesia Research Center, and Sino-Russian Far East Research Center and Pakistan Research Center, making effort to establish a regional research platform.
