A Touch of Fascinating Intangible Cultural Heritage of Zhejiang, China Intangible cultural heritage, an important part of traditional Chinese culture, is also a major carrier of understanding China and Chinese culture. Zhejiang province, one of birthplaces of Chinese civilization, gave birth to a long and splendid traditional Chinese culture. At present, 10 projects in Zhejiang Province have been selected into the UNESCO Representative List of Human Intangible Heritage (non-exclusive), ranking first in number across the country. They are: Chinese sericulture and silk weaving skills, Zhejiang Longquan celadon, Longquan sword-making, calligraphy, seal carving, paper cutting, woodblock printing, traditional wooden structure construction skills, the Dragon Boat Festival etc. Other projects with local characteristics include Jinhua tie-dyeing, wooden board New Year pictures, Ningbo gold and silver colored embroidery, Dongyang woodcarving. As of early 2019, Zhejiang has a total of 217 intangible cultural heritage items list, 233 protection units, 196 intangible heritage representative inheritors at the national level and the numbers are 886, 1,076 and 1,215 respectively at the provincial level. The Online Culture Experience Camp highlights the intangible cultural heritage in Zhejiang, China, with a view to promoting mutual understanding and friendship between China and the rest of the world.
