The 2020 Chinese Bridge: Online Winter Camp for Overseas College Students on the theme of Glamour China, Beauty represents itself with diversity and integrity, is sponsored by Center for Language Education and Cooperation and hosted by the College of Intensive Chinese Studies (CICS) and Center for International Communication of Chinese Culture at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). With the theme of discovering the beauty of Chinese culture, understanding the beauty and co-existence of Chinese excellent and the colorful cultures of the world, this winter camp aims to lead students to discover the charm of traditional culture, understand the vitality of contemporary national conditions and contemporary culture, and feel the beauty of harmony among different cultures. A language and cultural curriculum have been designed and tailored for more than 100 Thai college students, which is suitable for their background, age, learning rules and occupation demand, and meets their interests and focus of attention. In the course system, Chinese language and culture are combined in the way of Thematic Teaching and Plate-based Teaching through Tourist Chinese + Traditional culture and Business Chinese + Contemporary national conditions of China. A variety of teaching forms are adopted such as “language + culture lecture”, “language + culture appreciation”, and “language + culture experience” for online classroom. Even if they are thousands of miles away, students can experience the rich and colorful Chinese culture online, feel the profound Chinese wisdom, appreciate the vigor of contemporary China, stimulate their enthusiasm for further learning Chinese language and culture, and arouse their attention to the intrinsic driving force of Chinese language and culture.
