The 8th “Chinese Bridge Global Music: Chinese Music Culture Online International Institute” was co-hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) and Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM), organized by Music Confucius Institute Office & Center for International Chinese Language and Music Education CCOM, and co-organized by Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Jiangxi Normal University and Beijing Philharmonic Choir (in random order). Compared with the previous seven ones, this year's event has further expanded the content. By combining Chinese traditional and innovative instrumental music, dance, vocal and other art forms, it showcases 4 splendid series brought by different artistic innovative teams. They are "The Rhythm of Zhejiang－Exhibition of Jiangnan-Style Dance", "New Echoes of Ancient Melody: Concert for Chinese Ancient Music with Poetry", "Hearing Porcelain: Appreciation and Sharing Concert of Porcelain Orchestra" and "Children Singing the World: Classic Concert and Chorus Conducting International Open Courses of Beijing Philharmonic Choir". The Chinese Music Culture International Summer Camp/Institute is a key cultural brand built by Music Confucius Institute Office and the Center of CCOM in 2014. It aims at organizing various Chinese musical culture study activities for Chinese language learners and Chinese culture enthusiasts around the world, stimulating a strong interest in Chinese culture with the powerful influence of art, and achieving the goal of "developing international Chinese language education through art, promoting the Chinese spirit and telling China’s story well". The previous seven events from 2014 to 2021 have invited more than 600 foreign students, teachers and music lovers from 78 countries on five continents to study Chinese music culture in China or online. Especially, the 6th and 7th Chinese Bridge Global Music: Chinese Music Culture Online International Summer Camps in 2020 and 2021 have further expanded their reach through the Chinese Bridge website, attracting 384 foreign Chinese music lovers from 68 countries to participate. It has become one of the grandest musical and cultural events in the field of international Chinese language education.
