In this episode we enter the The Imperial Palace in Beijing, and begin our journey through it’s Hall of treasures. The Imperial Palace was also known as The Forbidden City, however these days it is now our gateway into the past and is home to China’s most famous treasures, ancient relics and artwork.In this episode we will be looking at the paintings in The Forbidden City. One such famous painting is 《清明上河图》(Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival) by Zhang Zeduan. A masterpiece made during the Song dynasty depicting China’s busy capital city at that time.
