Quanzhou: Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China was approved successively as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in July 2021 as the 56th one in China. 22 heritage sites are included, such as Kaiyuan Temple, Qingjing Temple, Caoan Monastery and Luoyang Bridge. This course focuses on Kaiyuan Temple, the largest and most time-honored site among them, to show people around the globe the diverse religious culture in Quanzhou, the world maritime commerce center in Song-Yuan China, in combination of such elements as Hindu stone carvings, Apsaras and Buddhism Reliefs.
