Guqin, also known as Yao Qin and seven stringed Qin, is the oldest plucked string instrument in China. It was listed in the world Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2003. It is the second item listed in the list in China. Guqin art has a long history and comes down in one continuous line with Chinese civilization. It has a wide influence on the history of Chinese music, aesthetics, social culture and ideology. It is one of the main representatives of Chinese ancient spiritual culture in music. The course on Chinese Art of Gu Qin will briefly introduce the Chinese Gu Qin from four aspects: the emergence and history of the Qin, the humanistic spirit of the Qin, the introduction of the Qin instrument and the playing method.
