There is a grand canal running through Tianjin. As an important channel of water transport in the past, the Grand Canal of Tianjin communicated the commerce and trade between the north and the south of China and promoted the economic development of Tianjin. Nowadays, although this Grand Canal is rarely used, the cultural exchange between north and south China brought by it has constantly integrated the local culture and foreign culture in Tianjin, forming many unique types of folk art and drama.
