Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. Painting in the traditional style is known today in Chinese as Guohua.Tools and materials involve writing brushes,ink,colored ink,rice paper and silk.The hardness or softness of brushes,paper absorbency and color determine the features of Guohua.Traditional Chinese painting includes landscape painting, figures, bird and flowers.Through the study of this course, students can understand the knowledge of Traditional Chinese painting, master the method of using brush，painting with ink and water, preliminarily learn the painting method of plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum, and improve the appreciation ability.
