This lecture introduces Seal Cutting, or Art of Seal. As one of four quintessences of Chinese culture, Seal Cutting has been going through a long history. Art of seal is inherited with a rubber and a carving knife. When you see a complete artwork after your dedicating and peaceful hard working, the feeling of devotion and satisfaction will prompt you to do another one. For students enjoying carving, rubber-stamp is definitely your best choice. It’s easier and cheaper to manufacture than wood or stone. In this lecture, the seal’s material we use is removable rubber-stamp. The content of the seal is the Chinese character “Fu” in different fonts, representing good luck in China.
