房新文总领事出席第24届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛墨尔本预赛

5月24日，第24届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛墨尔本预赛在维多利亚大学成功举办。总领事房新文及夫人曾晖、负责教育事务的参赞衔领事丁莉、维多利亚大学国际事务部部长蒙蒂·辛格、孔院澳方院长柯林·卡拉克及评委代表等嘉宾出席活动。来自6所高校的11名大学生围绕“天下一家”主题，通过中文演讲和才艺展示展开角逐。

房新文总领事表示，语言让我们彼此靠近，文化让我们彼此理解。中文承载着中华五千年文明的智慧与价值，不仅是沟通交流的语言工具，更是开放包容、互学互鉴、合作共赢的纽带与平台。希望澳大利亚的年轻人通过学习中文，架起一座连接中澳友谊的互通、互信、互鉴桥梁。

来自蒙纳士大学的两位选手获得冠亚军。线上直播近1600人观看了比赛。

Consul General Fang Xinwen attended the 24th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition – Melbourne Preliminary 

On May 24, the 24th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students-Melbourne Preliminary was successfully held at Victoria University.

Consul General Fang Xinwen and his wife Ms. Zeng Hui, Counsellor Ding Li (educational affairs), Mr. Monty Singh, Chief International officer of Victoria University and Prof. Colin Clark, Director of Victoria Business Confucius Institute attended the event together with panel of judges and guests.

A total of 11 students from six universities participated in the competition, delivering speeches and showcasing talents based on the theme “One World, One Family”.

Consul General Fang Xinwen emphasized that “language brings us closer, and culture helps us understand each other.” He noted that the Chinese language carries the wisdom and values of over 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, serving not only as a tool for communication but also as a bridge for openness, inclusiveness, mutual learning, and win-win cooperation.

Two students from Monash University won the champion and runner-up titles .Nearly 1,600 people watched the match online via livestream.
